Improve your speaking and writing skills
Warren Buffet explains in a video posted on LinkedIn that the only way to increase your value by at least 50% is to refine your communication and writing skills. The video in question was posted by Michael Hood, co-founder of the start-up Voiceflow. Hood asks Buffett: “What advice would you give to young people aged 21-22, who have just finished their studies? » To this question, Warren Buffet answers: “Invest in yourself.”
While still young, Buffett took a public speaking course at Dale Carnegie, the professional skills training and development organization. He admits in a BBC video, published in 2009, that he was terrified of public speaking when he was at high school and university.
“If you can’t communicate, it’s like winking at a girl in the dark, nothing happens. You can have unparalleled intelligence, but you must be able to transmit it. And transmission is communication“, continues Warren Buffett, who is now worth more than $86 billion, according to Forbes.
Billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson confirms Warren Buffet’s words and assures that the ability to communicate effectively is essential to success. “Today, if you want to succeed as an entrepreneur, you also need to be a storyteller. LStorytelling is useless if your product or idea doesn’t hold water. But it’s not enough to create a good product, you also need to know how to make it known to people,” he concludes.
