Coudac, the full remote startup with +500% growth, is recruiting!

At just 24 years old and a few months after finishing his studies at HEC, Théo Lion is at the head of the startup Coudac, an agency that supports companies in their online customer acquisition strategy through advertising on networks social. It has experienced spectacular growth in recent months. Its particularity? A 100% remote job that offers its employees total freedom in carrying out their daily work. Victim of its success, the startup is looking for its next gems to continue its crazy momentum.

The journey of Théo Lion, founder of Coudac

Can you go back over your journey?

I did HEC after ECS prep at the Lycée Notre-Dame De Grandchamp, in Versailles. I launched my company, Coudac, during my gap year, after completing internships in France and internationally which reinforced my choice to launch into entrepreneurship. In particular, I had a frustrating experience as a Digital Account Manager in Australia: I realized during this internship that my actions and my efforts had to serve a very specific cause and have meaning for me.

What is Coudac’s mission?

Coudac is an agency specializing in supporting e-commerce brands. Its main objective is to help businesses expand through their social networks, through strategic campaign management and advertising production. As of today, we already have more than 1,000 to our credit that we carry out for our 130 clients. We also manage around 9 million euros per year of advertising budget.

The company will celebrate its two-year anniversary in just a few months (in April) and has 36 employees. Despite the distance, we cultivate a very strong culture and team spirit. Finally, last particularity, we have been 100% self-funded since the start of the adventure. In other words, we have never raised a single euro since the start.

The atypical functioning of Coudac

Why did you create a box in full remote ?

When Coudac was launched, remote working seemed obvious, for purely practical reasons (I was still a student). As the team grew, we realized the benefits this presented, whether for me, for the company, but also for our employees.

For Coudac, this makes it possible to attract high-level profiles who aspire to a certain lifestyle that they could not have in a company with traditional working conditions. As for Coudac employees, they can enjoy their freedom, while being involved in long-term projects that are close to their hearts. They thus have all the advantages of freelancing, without the solitude and precariousness that this status often implies.

What are the advantages of full remote for your employees?

Remote working has many advantages for our employees. They can indeed manage their schedule as they wish. We firmly believe that employee autonomy and empowerment push them to be as efficient as possible. They thus have freedom of means and great flexibility on a daily basis. They can work wherever and whenever they want, as long as the objectives set are met and the customers are satisfied. The times when we see each other in person represent a moment of relaxation for the team and help preserve team cohesion.

Indeed, distance learning does not necessarily mean absence of interactions with team members. We are keen to create a warm and friendly working environment. This is why we organize once every three months a team building where we meet to enjoy and unwind. The moments when we see each other in physics are sacred and dedicated to the development of relationships between us.
