Monday October 11 to Friday October 17: The ICFTUs regional organisation for the Americas (ORIT) is organising a Central American sub-regional workshop in Santa Fe de Bogota (Colombia), with the support of the FES, on the theme "Social alliance, globalisation and integration".
Monday October 11 to Wednesday October 13 : The German trade union confederation DGB celebrates its 50th anniversary in Munich. The ICFTU General Secretary Bill Jordan will attend the festivities on October 13.
Monday October 11 to Wednesday October 13: The International Labour Office (ILO) is organising a tri-partite workshop in Windhoek (Namibia) on the strategies to be developed to face up to the social implications and effect on the labour market of the AIDS/HIV pandemic.
Monday October 11 to Wednesday October 13: The European branch of the international federation of commercial, clerical and technical employees (EURO-FIET) is organising a seminar on Youth policy in Luxembourg.
Monday October 11 to Thursday October 14: The US national trade union centre, AFL-CIO, is holding its convention in Los Angeles (California).
Tuesday October 12 to Friday October 15: The Austrian national trade union centre, ÖGB, is holding its federal congress in Vienna. ICFTU General Secretary Bill Jordan will be a guest at the congress on October 12.
Thursday October 14 and Friday October 15: The Japanese national trade union centre Rengo is organising is sixth biennial convention in Tokyo. An international symposium to commemorate Rengos 10th anniversary will take place on Wednesday October 13. ICFTU Leroy Trotman will attend. The ICFTUs General Secretary, Bill Jordan, will take part in Rengos convention on Friday October 15.
Thursday October 14: UNCTAD is organising a seminar in Geneva on "putting foreign direct investment at the service of sustainable development".
Thursday October 14 and Friday October 15 October: The International Graphical workers Federation (IGF) is holding an extraordinary congress in Ischia (Italy).
Friday October 15 to Saturday October 16: The Council of Europe is organising a "forum on the eradication of poverty" in Strasbourg.
