ICFTU Conference on Globalisation and labour Standards
December 7 - 9: ICFTU Conference on Globalisation and Labour Standards
The ICFTU is organising a 3-day event to discuss labour standards in the light of the WTO Meeting in Geneva this May, and the ILO Fundamental Declaration.
The event will comprise a trade union seminar, which will be used to develop the campaign in the run up to the 3rd WTO Conference, which will take place in the USA in December 1999; a day of consultations with Renato Ruggiero, Director General of the WTO and senior staff on topical trade policy issues, and an exchange of views with Rubens Ricupero, UNCTAD Secretary General and Ambassadors on UNCTAD’s work on a possible multilateral framework for investment.
