Russia's Unpaid Workers: ICFTU Campaign
One Russian worker in four, more than 20 million people, is not paid regularly and delays can be as long as six or even twelve months. According to recent figures, the total wage debt amounts to 10 billion US dollars. To combat this gross violation of labour rights, the ICFTU and International Trade Secretariats, together with Russian trade union federations, have launched a major international campaign. As part of it an International Conference is taking place in Moscow on November 25-27, 1997.
